A beautiful alternative for all of us waiting for a GS3...
Here is an email I received from Kees on his Speedster:

"Yes, we are right now working hard to develop the Speedster into a production model. Lots of work and testing to do, I expect the first machines end of summer,
keep an eye on our site around that time.

It will differ from the original first series, because the paddle type Marzocco group is obsolete. We`ll use a lever coming through the body with a "shiftgate":
off-infuse-brew.
(We will offer to build it with the paddle group for people supplying their own group)
It will have a 3ltr. steamboiler, 2 ltr. coffeeboiler, both in stainless,
PID, pre-heated water to coffeeboiler, progressive pre-infusion, optional foot-activated steamvalve.
It`ll not have the ultra-elaborate electronics as the GS3, we`ll keep things simple and straightforward, but with all the important goodies.

220 at first, 110 maybe later. Plumbed in with separate rotation pump, maybe an optional bottle on top of pump to be able to operate non-plumbed.

Price is hard to say at this stage, but certainly not more than the GS3.

Nun wird die Entscheidung schwer! GS3 oder Speedster?
Vom Preis wenig Unterschied €3800.-/€4200..-

War mit Fabian Schmidt bei Kees van der Westen.

Die neue speedster wird sicher ein geiles Teil.
Habe die optional foot-activated steamvalve in aktion gesehen. Schon beeindruckende Idee. Allerdings, falls nicht abschaltbar nichts für Haushalt mit Kindern - das würde sicher zum Spielzeug!
Die Kolbenanzeige der progressiven Brühung habe ich auch gesehen - finde ich geil!

Die Maschine in Aktion habe ich nicht testen können, da noch nicht fertig!
Den "shiftgate" habe ich mir erklären lassen - funktioniert wie eine Kulissenschaltung bei Sportwaagen!

Ich werde nun versuchen, die GS/3 anzukucken und mich dann für eine der beiden Maschinen entscheiden!
