I have just received another shipment of green beans from the Greens Club.
This time it was a double shipment and schnick.schnack took 1 shipment of these beans from me for the Greens Club price (including shipping costs, packaging etc to my place) of € 5.45/kg for the following beans:

As we each bought two kg's of all types we had a total of 26 kg each.
This will give us some types to blend and experiment with and some to enjoy as single origin.
schnick.schnack paid another €20,- for shipment of the 26 kg from my place to his (Netherlands to Germany)
There should be another buy in the next while, the majority decides what beans get bought out of the available types.

who or what is the green club ?

Hello Tom,

It is a bunch of coffee lovers who buy their green beans together so we can demand better prices.
We buy a number of bags and than split them between us.
The club is in England but there are members from other countries also involved: The Netherlands, France, Spain etc....
We buy and have delivered in England, the beans get divided, packaged and sent to all members. Even counting a little cost for packaging and shipment it is a lot cheaper than in regular stores.
The members decide what beans get bought out of the then available types.
I am one of the founding members of the club.
Whenever I have extra beans I sell them on to others for the same price I paid for them.
Once you sign up for a buy then you are expected to participate in the buy, whatever beans get decided on. You do have a vote.
Before you can become a member of the club you will have to be introduced by one of the existing members and be subject to a membership vote by the original members.
payment for the beans is by (secure) credit card or paypal. Payment is needed before shipment takes place.
We have so far had 4 shipments of beans, there will be another one in 4 to 6 weeks.

The coffeebeans seems very interesting for me. Thanks for sharing with us. Unfortunately I haven´t any roaster yet.

Heute kamen die 26kg Bohnen an. Was soll ich sagen? Augenscheinliche Top-Qualität zu einem guten Preis. Es duftet jetzt überall herrlich nach grünen Bohnen, ich freue mich schon aufs Rösten. Nur ein Problem hab ich jetzt: mit welchen Bohnen soll ich anfangen? Der Röster läuft sich gerade schon warm.

An dieser Stelle möchte ich mich auch nochmal ausdrücklich bei Zapty bedanken! ein sehr netter Kontakt und es hat alles wunderbar geklappt!

Es hat sich herausgestellt, dass GLS beim versenden von schweren Paketen innerhalb von Deutschland und Europa sehr günstig ist. GLS berechnet den Preis unabhängig von Gewicht, sondern in Abhängigkeit vom Packmaß (ich glaube bis 50 kg Maximalgewicht). Das Paket hat knapp 20€ gekostet, also auch ein Tipp für Maschinenversender!
