    Model:520N
    Power:350W
    Voltage:110V-240V

    Color:Black/Pink/Yellow/White
    Packing size:315*190*430mm
    Weight:3.6kg

For the 4:6 method you have to grind coarse, I like cleaner taste than 4min extractions.

The grinder does fines, but low. This morning I grinded 19.01 g and took out 18.89 g without doing anything, just start and stop.

From the 18.89 G I took out 1.36 g of fines, sieved with the system from the grinder (Takes 10-12 seconds to sieve).

    This was to fine grinded.

    Looks very promising.
What sieve did you use. Does this come with the grinder?
Do you know the mesh size of the sieve?

1.36g fines but I grinded to fine for my 2:30 time (18g in 280g water). I guess if I go up in coarseness then I will get even less.

The coffee recipient that comes with the grinder has a sieve inside (it can be removed easily). First I was thinking that is just inefficient but it takes only 10-12 sec to sieve and the results are amazing. The mesh size I dont know how small it is, but from the comparision with 400 microns Kruve this is alot smaller, so I guess it is ~150-200um. Strange that it is so small but it sieves so fast, compared to Kruve 400 microns.

Tomorrow I will do a picture at the brewing paper after the brew. I will use my optimal grind size to be under 3 mins and doing 4:6 method (with 60ml +2x100ml pours I grind finer).

What´s about the grinding degree, I read only 10 steps, ist this fine enough for grinds example for an aeropress, and at the same time coarse enough für French Press methods? Are these 10 steps rasterized or seemless?

    From this morning.

18.14g in (beans) = 16.78g out so 1.36 g left is sieved fines + mini retention. (I would say the grinder has 0.1 retention everytime and the rest 1.26g are fines).

1.26g out of 18.04 (0.1 retention out) is 6.98% "fines". We dont know the mesh size, but we can assume It is smaller than 400 microns, I would say It is 200???

Last time my grind settings was 2.5 (grind settings from 1 to 10 can be stopped between clicks- stepless) now my grind was just a bit over 3. For my personal preference I would still go above 3.5 for the sweet spot. Bare in mind that the burrs are not close to touching at 1, you can still unscrew the regulator and redo the zero point so you can grind even finer for aeropress.
If you need more information, search fuji royal R220.

The V60 filter papers I am using right now are brown/unbleached.

I had some grinders and worked with others ( Mazzer Kony, Robur, Ceado e37s, Ditting k803, Mahlkonig Guatemala SB 73mm unimodal burrs, now SSP burrs, Kinu M47, Bezzera B005, other old hand grinders).

For the cost of the price, 175 USD + 54 E tax this little thing beats everything for brewing (yes it does fines, but with the sieving mechanism you just obtain a perfect brew grind in 10 sec, without buying Kruve, or without even moving the grounded coffee into anothe recipient, you just grind, mix and shake, pour the result into the brewer). The total time and workflow is just amazin, grind 3 sec, shake 10sec, pour into the brewer. And the results are really good.

It is fast (18g in 3 sec, it has low retention ~0.1g, it easy to open and clean, it comes with a mini hopper (up to 250g), a closer for the hopper, so you can put the beans inside, start the grinder then drop them into the burr chamber, and the most important part it is really quiet compared to other grinders).

I have better results+ workflow with this than any grinders above mentioned. + the countertop is happy and my wife too, the grinder is really really really small. Fuji Royal r220 and older models have a ~150-170W motor, I was not happy because I am using only light roast, so I found this grinder and they say it has 350W. I am not convinced it has that power, but still 200W+. It grinds no problem light roast, and there is a guy with Fuji Royal r220 in US with a coffee shop (12.000 V60 in 1 year) using the Fuji Royal R220 grinder (150-170W motor).

Looks simple and promising to me. Did you test the sieving cup with one of your other grinders? Can I buy it separately, without the grinder?

    Search on google:

Coffee Filters Coffee sieve powder 304 stainless steel filter smell cup picker hand coffee powder Strainer

It will work, but the question is how many grams of coffee will you throw? Now im grinding 18g and dumping 1g out.

For a normal Grinder (no ghost burrs) I thinking about 2 g/20g grind. You are throwing away 10%.

Is this the one that comes with the Xeoleo grinder? Looks almost identical:

250 micron btw. (according to one of the reviewers)
I'm not a filter guy, I usually prefer espresso and french press. I own an excellent single dosing grinder, but the fines in my FP really bug me and I don't want a second grinder on the desk. I know the Cruve, but I would never fiddle around with it, too complicated for me.
This cup seems to be a very convenient solution to my problem.

  19. Denis

    Denis Gast

The grind is different from the Apex because this is a electrical grinder with 1200+ rpm that grinds 18g=3sec.

Apex is a manual grinder with 40-80 rpm that grinds 18g in 5 min. I was 99% decided to buy Apex, but because of the noise + grinding time I didnt buy it.

This is apex, lowest setting bottom and medium coarse top. 8491_low-mid_apex.jpg
